Canavan
Research Illinois
Canavan
Research Illinois is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to
saving the lives of children battling Canavan disease.
A 501 (c) (3) charity established in April of 2000, Canavan Research Illinois
is a 100% volunteer organization meeting the critical need to support medical
research to treat, cure and improve the quality of lives of all children battling
Canavan disease.
As an orphan disease, Canavan receives essentially no public funding for research.
It is our mission to raise funds to support cutting-edge research, increase
public awareness and network Canavan families.
Virtually every penny raised is dedicated to saving all the young victims of
Canavan disease.
Our
organization has already directed over a half-a-million
dollars towards medical research aimed at improving the
lives of all children living with Canavan disease.
Due
in part to our continuing efforts to find a cure for Canavan
Disease, 7 more children received gene replacement therapy
between May and August of this year.
Precious Max, was treated over two years ago and continues to amaze everyone
he encounters.
